Keila McGuary

Violin, Viola, Guitar

  Keila McGuary is a violinist and music educator based in San Diego, CA. She holds a Master of Music in String Education from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from Valdosta State University. Keila is a trained Suzuki violin and viola instructor and teaches string orchestra in public schools. She co-founded the LiberArte String Collective, which provides free string music education for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. 

  Keila has performed with the Valdosta and Albany Symphony Orchestras, presented her research at music education conferences throughout the United States, and received the FASE Diverse String Teachers Fellowship in 2025.  

Dr. Hunter McGuary

Low Brass & Guitar

  Dr. Hunter McGuary is a Navy Fleet Musician with Navy Band Southwest in San Diego. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, he earned a Doctor of Music from Florida State University, a Master of Music Performance from Valdosta State University, and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Mississippi.

  An active performer on alto, tenor, and bass trombones as well as guitar, he has appeared with ensembles across the Southeast and Southern California, including symphonies, brass quintets, and as a featured soloist with various groups.
